Tucked beneath a hidden forest in a quiet area of northern Minnesota lies Juliane James Place. A hand crafted chuppah was made by his grandfather and lace from her mother’s wedding dress draped above them. Guests sat in the old wooden pews amongst the serene view as Michael was escorted down the aisle by his little girl, Sophia. As his soon to be wife, who he had not yet laid his eyes on that day, stepped into the aisle with her parents… his reaction was priceless. With a bit of a boho vibe, Lauren came down the aisle with a beautiful flower crown made by Saffron and Grey. As little Sophia stood in her gold sparkle shoes and adorable pink dress, tears streamed down her face. This was the day she was going to get a second mom.
As dad toasted to the occasion, he spoke of how his daughter craved someone to mother as a young girl. While in her younger years it was her little sister and younger friends, it has made this match magical. There is no doubt that Michael chose the perfect mate to find a place in his little girl’s heart. A place that would not compete with her own mom and would be a seamless addition into her life. Lauren’s heart is not only completely in love with Michael, but is forever attached to Soph.
The Father of the Bride raised his glass as he ended his toast… “Now, as that old saying goes… you’re not losing a daughter but gaining a son. What has made this blessing that much sweeter is that I gained a son AND a granddaughter. She is truly the cherry on the sundae. ”
Mazel Tov to this new, official family.
Lauren gave Soph a special ring for her on the wedding day. A beautiful flower crown fit Lauren’s vision of a boho bride.
THIS reaction as Michael and his family stood beneath the Chuppah. I absolutely adore these. Captured perfectly by my second shooter, Kendra. Check out the sweet tears by Miss Sophia.
One of my absolute favorite moments of the day. Soph is a quiet and shy little one. Lauren wanted to do something special with her during the ceremony. They did “whisper vows” to one another. It was the sweetest thing ever. Fabulous details throughout done by Woven and Wed. There was a lot that I could say…
On Lauren’s wedding day
So I had to make this rap
And ya’ll, please feel free to clap!
(Yes… a wedding rap happened and I’m pretty sure she dropped the mic at the end!)
While some guests got down on the dance floor, others enjoyed the outdoors of Juliane James Place.
The photos you took of Lauren and Michael and the families are priceless. You captured the love and joy of the evening — from Sammy’s and Scott’s messages to Lauren’s secret to her daughter! Wow…
