I don’t have the answer to those questions… especially since I am all in with my first little one. However, I have a take on it from an outside perspective. Be ok with those sad moments, whether they are as a mom or with your little. Snuggle them in close through the tears, cry to your spouse or during a random conversation with a friend, and allow yourself to feel all the changes. Then, take a deep breath and be present with the moments that joy sparks through. You know, when the oldest giggles at her little sister or wants to be a helper. It’s in those moments that your heart expands.
These little girls are MY family. Dad is the sole cousin my sister and I grew up with and LOVED to be with. I am watching big sis, Seana, be the greatest helper, welcomer, and voice for her little sister….. but also know there’s a struggle. She’s missing being center stage all the time. But this phase will pass and they will soon be playing doctor together in the playroom. 🙂
