I’m not sure how time flew by the way it did. She was once my little sister with the cutest baby belly and picture perfect pout face who was known as the bag lady that ran the cash register. She was my side kick on my grandma’s monkey bars, and thought I was the coolest when I would take her on the “longest bike ride ever” around our allowed few short blocks. She made up dances, put on performances and constantly peddled around in her “infamous” yellow car. We would build forts, make car tracks out of our storybooks, and sit on the bottom bunk of our bunk beds together and play the card game “war”. Somehow our childhood days whipped passed us and our lives changed. My little checkout girl at the cash register is now an accountant, but could still be known as the “bag lady”. 🙂 She also recently tried to sit in her yellow car, but her 5’10” long and lean stature doesn’t quite make the cut to get around the block in it. As I settled in to my career as a photographer, after several years of work… I decided to take my sister out for a shoot. She had done modeling in the past, so I thought I would try her out. She giggled much of the shoot (in the outtake moments) as I made commentary on how she rocked the camera. I was stunned! My baby sister was amazing in front of the lens. Who knew that pout face would someday turn into the fierce look that many can’t pull off?! As she has transitioned into being a mom to my little nephew, Bentley Thomas, it is crazy to think that she has reached her 30’s. There is a lot more fun in store, Megan! Happy Birthday and I Love you!
The moment I realized my sister could work the camera.
Laughing at my commentary…In love with a new little boy….Megan’s modeling days before I had the chance to photographer her. As we creep back to our earlier years…The cutest swimsuit baby belly. 🙂Much love to my mom who spent all she had on developing rolls and rolls of film of us as kids. I LOVE our photos that she captured of us.The feathered friend Megan has on her shoulder almost looks like my “Tommy”, that I have now!
And because comparison photos are fun… Here is a photo I attempted to recreate of Bentley from Megan at the same age. Bentley, this New Year’s Day.
Welcome to your thirties, Meg!
