We all know that time flies quickly the older we get. The more we have on our plate, the quicker it goes. We often get caught up in our to-do list and breeze past simply being present and enjoying the little things. So often times with kids, parents are trying their best to be the best. The best teacher, role model, and memory keeper. How can you do this when your to-do list is calling? Simply find ways to make the most of the moments in between. Life doesn’t exist with perfect kids who are always happy. Real life exists in the moments when you are watching, engaging, and loving on them no matter the circumstance. Allowing kids to explore past a comfort zone may give an opportunity for a little one to pick a flower for their mom. A sad kiddo might lay their head down on dad’s chest for comfort. And if you tell them stories, they will more than likely laugh with you. These are the moments I am aiming to capture. They are they stories that play a part in being a memory keeper.

For this family, those memories are delicate and cherished. The mother of these sweet faces and wife to a supportive husband is fighting a hard battle with cancer. With her girls at 4 years and 2 years, making each and every moment count is extremely important. I was lucky enough to document their love. It is by the grace of God that Catt has the ability to carry the joy that still beams from within. With a weary body, she finds ways to fill others up. While she should be caring for herself, she is often thinking of others. Catt and Paul, may God continue to fill those moments in between with peace and happiness.
