And she’s 30 folks

November 17, 2011

That’s right.

Today. I. Am. 30. I said it. Ok.. I wrote it… but I just said it out loud too to make it official!

I’m not sure what’s scarier…. the fact that I don’t know how I got here so fast or that I still feel like I’m young. 🙂 In my early twenties (omg I already sound like an old person talking about them self as a youngster lol) I thought that 30 was this end all be all of knowing my life plan. Well, of course I would be married with kids and have a house and things I always thought I’d have because it seemed like eons of time away. And then… it snuck up on me. Time really does fly by faster each year. I dreaded this day for a while. Had a “bucket list/to-do list” to get done before I was 30. While it was motivating.. it really was too much pressure on myself. Today I have accepted several positives about being 30:

I know who I am way more than I did at 21.

I love what I do and can’t believe I get to do something I enjoy so young. (Young being the key word 😉 )

I can totally justify my boot purchases because I am grown and can splurge if I want to. I have a slight boot obsession.. and I wear them all year long. With sundresses and all. If you know me.. you’ve more than likely seen me in one of my favorite pairs.

The car dealership will totally think I am way more mature and take me seriously and give me an amazing deal once they see my drivers license and realize I am now in my THIRTIES! Ok maybe not… but hopefully one day when I upgrade I will have someone in “the know” to wheel and deal with me.

I value time, friendships and family so much more. You realize life is precious and that it is always necessary to tell someone how you feel and that you love them.

I can now relate to my mom on another level as this is where she was in her life when she had me.

I think I am way more fashion savvy. 🙂

I am totally fine with breaking out into dance anytime. anywhere. and don’t care. Confidence? Probably not. I just don’t care what people think anymore 🙂

I hear 30 is the new 20.. so I’ve totally still got it!

I was told that I still got it… And was reminded that I look better now than I did in my younger years. “Remember I’ve seen your high school photos lol”- a quote from the text I received today

So here’s to getting better as the years go by and being blessed that I have my camera to remind me of all the moments in between. Cheers!
